Second Post/ My goal and several things

Thank you for coming to my blog. On this post, I have three things to tell you.

Firstly, I enjoyed the last two leadership classes. Because I often shy of strangers, that kind of atmosphere help me a lot to communicate with you, guys. Really looking forward to having dinner (or drinking) together, cause I think everyone in this class has each goal and sharing it may allow us to emulate each other. I heard Hiroshi, for instance, is going to attend Japan-America Student Conference in this summer. Everyone has goals and passions, and one strong point of this class is that we can share it.

Second, I would like to respond to the question 1 on Ch.1, what my vision of leadership is.

One thing I really care is how to organize a team when it starts . There are various ways to make teams stable, but for me, having equal relationships with members. What leaders must to do is not oppressing their members, not checking their members works, but make a strong relationships with each of your mate. As Shackleton did, they need to help their teams achieve their goal by systematic approach and some distractions: ) This way of being leader allow me to go next stage as a manager.

Finally, let me introduce my visions of future. My future goal is "living with something special." Is it really unclear, right? But, this is honestly only my long-term vision. Special doesn't mean the reason why I live, but a live of leisure. To lead my life with no inconvenience, I need family, friends, and earning money. These are all purposes of my living which I must have. Unlike purposes, my goals are what will entertain me. I am the member of Capoeira Regional Tempo Japan, the group of capoeira in Tokyo, and I could know how people's passions affect each other. Both at my work and at home, I will keep having my passions, and that is my something special.

So, in a short-term, I am trying to do new things in my university days. As one of those, now I am the project manager of "Social Business Competition" at Cambodia in this August. It needs hard work, but I am sure it genuine will entertain me.

3 things, my good impression for Ken's class, leadership when teams start, and my future visions. Looking forward to seeing you in the next class.

Kengo's First Post

It is really interesting that hopes and realities are usually different to each other, and what I had hoped for to be given comes to me after giving up.

My freshman year at ICU was so attractive that all of I had experienced drew my passion. But I had to admit after the autumn term coming that I could not equally spend my passion to do all the things. I did not know, and I still do not know how to deal with the core of my expectation for myself.

The opportunity to become "leader" suddenly came at the time. Now I am it of the project in which various people will be involved and share their own passions.

Thus, I want to answer the latter question of Expedition Log 1, what the nature of cooperation as a team is by confirming my goal of Ken's class. The three main goals to get through this course are here.

Share our passions. Everyone has his/her passion, but at least half of them are not able to clarify them. I believe the purpose of making a team is to hold our passion in common and find a point in common. A form of group help us a lot to cut it from broad and abstract field.

Be the one in the class. I want to make my own position in this group. If not leader or master, I do not care. I am going to manage to show my characteristic to share ideas with other mates.

Learn leadership. I am looking forward to reading the 10 ingredients of success in leadership, and having the opportunities to learn these skills by practicing them in this class.

These three are my goals at the sophomore ELP. I am going to try best, keeping the word by Alfred Marshall, cool head, but warm heart.
